Brightfiber Inside

The new standard for circular textiles

📍 10 September | 12:10 – 12:20

Brightfiber is a system change incorporation dedicated to transforming the fashion industry into a truly circular ecosystem. We operate a state-of-the-art sorting company focused on the re-use and recycling of old clothes. With 14 years of experience in circular textiles, our holding company comprises three specialized entities working in synergy.

Our unique approach
What makes us unique is our pioneering spirit. We are the first company worldwide to develop new machines that fully automatically sort, clean, and fiber old clothes into new resources on an industrial scale. This innovative process was driven by our need for a consistent volume of high-quality feedstock for the products we produce and sell.

High-quality, local, and sustainable materials
We are a private label producer of circular textile products for workwear and fashion companies, selling circular fabrics and end-products made from locally processed waste streams.

Our commitment to quality, sustainability, and local production is paramount
We provide a consistent volume of high-quality raw materials. We process our local material in our own factory and work with a closed group of suppliers within Europe and Turkey. This increases transparency, stimulates regional innovation and minimizes environmental impact. Our process is designed for minimal water usage, avoids harmful chemicals, has a minimum of 40-70% post-consumer waste material. We ensure social conditions throughout our supply chain.

Our products – The ‘Brightfiber Inside’ label
We collaborate with our long-term partners to develop yarn collections in over 15 colors, which are then transformed into premium fabrics and finished products tailored to your collection. We continuously innovate to process more material into new products, pushing the boundaries of circularity.

Product Range
Circular knits: Thin, circular knitted fabrics.
Fully fashion: Thicker, flat knitted fabrics.
We are also expanding into Woven fabrics.

Our products are ideal for fashion brands, workwear, and interior applications.

Closed-loop take-back service
We offer a unique take-back service for re-use and recycling. Brands can return their own used & returned clothing to us, and we use that very same material to create new fabrics or garments. Our truly closed-loop system demonstrates our commitment to a truly circular fashion industry.

The circular one-stop-shop
From automated sorting, cleaning, and high-quality fiber production to private label manufacturing of innovative yarns, fabrics, and fashion—as well as offering a closed-loop take-back service—we are your all-in-one partner for the workwear and fashion industries, committed to achieving true circularity in textiles.

Ellen Mensink

Ellen Mensink is the founder and driving force behind Brightfiber Textiles B.V. Her inspiration to start Brightfiber and commit to circular fashion arose after the Rana Plaza garment factory disaster in Bangladesh in 2013. This tragedy opened her eyes to how a supply chain that once stood for craftsmanship, knowledge, and creativity had deteriorated into a throwaway culture. However, Ellen also saw that the solution was within reach: sustainably recycling old clothing into new collections.

After leading the Netherlands’ first circular fashion brand, Loop.a life, for eight years, Mensink decided to apply her knowledge and experience more broadly. Five years ago, she made the decision to establish her own raw materials factory in the Netherlands. From this foundation, she began supporting other brands and companies as a private label business in developing circular collections. The mission of Brightfiber Textiles is to make the clothing and textile industry circular and truly sustainable, with the ultimate goal of contributing to a clean and green planet.
